About the VHL (Veterans Hockey League) Chicago
Veterans Hockey League - Chicago
The Veterans Hockey League (VHL) is an adult hockey program based in the Chicagoland area, dedicated to supporting our local military veterans through the game we all love. Our mission is simple: keep veterans on the ice by using the sport of hockey as a source of connection, community, and well-being.
While the VHL was created to uplift military veterans, our events are open to everyone 21 and older. Civilian teams, military veterans, firefighters, and law enforcement teams are all welcome to participate. We believe the game is stronger — and the impact is greater — when the entire community comes together.
At this time, the VHL operates exclusively through showcase games and special events, featuring a mix of veteran, civilian, and first-responder players.
The Veterans Hockey League is proudly affiliated with Level Zero Heroes Hockey and has joined their mission to raise awareness and support for the SameYou Foundation. While the VHL participates in this shared purpose, the league itself does not request or receive funds on its own behalf. All charitable efforts connected to VHL events are carried out through Level Zero Heroes Hockey and its established fundraising channels.
